Beloved

Even though we have only read the first 60 pages of Beloved I don’t like it at all. I don’t really know why but it just doesn’t appeal to me. The story line is okay but the way she writes is not. She jumps around way too much and I don’t like it. I also don’t see the point of why anyone would write like that, other than to confuse people, which isn’t very nice. I feel like every year in English we read something about slavery and it has gotten really old. Obviously this one is a little different but it still annoys me. Hopefully it will get better but so far it is not looking good. I liked The Road so much better. McCarthy wrote in a weird way to, but I actually liked the way he wrote. It makes sense to me, where as Morrison writes in a way where it makes me want to punch her in the face. The article we read that the book was based on made me think that I was going to like it because it was a really interesting plot, sad but interesting. So, maybe the book will get better.
