I am not a creative person so I am not going to write
another chapter but I am going to discuss the ending of The Road. I hated the ending. I think that they both should have
died. Yes, it would have been even more depressing but it would have been more
believable. The fact that right after the father died a man shows up to take
care of the boy is way to convenient and kind of annoying. The boy should
either have died or learned how to take care of himself or literally anything
other than what happened. Also, the man’s death was very short and not as drawn
out as I thought it was going to be. The whole book is kind of repetitive and
makes their suffering very detailed, but then the man just kind of dies…no big
deal. I think that the boy is going to die very soon anyways even though he is with
this “family” or whatever they are. There is no way that they all can survive. Unless
there is some unknown place that the man and boy didn’t know about… they are
going to starve and die. Basically, McCarthy should have made the boy die.
